Is it ok to ship paint through the USPS?

I need to order some paint and was wondering if I'll have to have it freight collected through the airlines or if it's ok to have it sent through the mail.

oil based or water based?  in little tubes like for artist, or in gallon cans?

Oil based could be a flammable liquid, therefore prohibited

The shipper should know, or just ask your local postmaster to look it up in the manual of dangerous cargoes.

You can but it can only be shipped via ground. UPS is better about shipping paint than USPS.
