Is it ok to skip a period using birth control? ?

My 21st birthday is coming up on 9/9 and I am going to start on the 8th. I have been using birth control (reclipsen) for about 4 months now.

I've done it, for special occasions, but I would not recommend doing it constantly, like the previous answerer...

Once in a while is okay, but don't get in the habit of doing it all the time...

Also, be prepared for a period with a vengeance next month... You'll feel more bloated, and might cramp... definately heavier period, but not horrible. It was worth it to do it the times I did... There's nothing worse than spending a birthday or any othe special day with a period.

I know, I couldn't prevent it last time... I had just switched to Mirena (IUD) and had heavy spotting that couldn't be helped, during my birthday... bummer!

Go for it. I used to do it all the time. My doctor told me it was fine.

yeah its totally okay to skip a period while taking a birth control pill. this happens to many ppl.

I'd talk to your doc before trying.  My friend is redoing her cycle by going off for a week or 2 early. Ask if you can time it so that your period comes early instead of miss it all together.

yes its completely safe. but the next time you do get one it may be heavy

I've skipped my period for nearly a year.  One wont hurt.  Congrats on your b-day!
