  1. It's fine to sleep on your stomach until it isn't comfortable anymore.  Your baby is nestled safe in your uterus, you aren't hurting it at all.  You aren't supposed to lay on your back after you're a few months along though because your uterus will press on a major vein that restricts blood flow to your heart.  Good luck and congrats! =]

  2. It is completely fine. Your body will tell you when it's no longer OK to sleep on your belly (same with sleeping on your back).

  3. i don't think u should sleep on your stomach

    it may affect the baby

  4. I still sleep on my stomach sometimes if I can get comfortable.  I'm 26 weeks now.  My doctor has always said whatever is comfortable, if it's too late in pregnancy, you won't be comfortable like that.

    Best wishes!  Congrats!

  5. Not really the best- its not too comfy either.  How would like to feel like someone sleeping on you? lol

FYI it not good to sleep on your back either- for 2 main reasons: 1.  the baby can rest on all your main arteries leading to heart and block them. 2. The baby can rest on his umbilical cord and block the oxygen he needs.

So best to sleep neutral- on you side- if you stick a pillow between your legs and under your belly for support that seems to be the most comfy position

Sorry i should of stated that i meant later in pregnancy when bub is bigger- i was just giving you some info that may apply to you later!

  6. I heard that it is best to sleep on your left side, but I have no idea why.  I still sleep on my stomach and I am 24 weeks!

  7. with both of mine, i slept on my tummy...until it became uncomfy! than I would sleep with my tummy hanging over the side, and my husband would just laugh at me! but after a whie, that became uncomfy too. so i just decided that I'd sleep with a pillow underneath my side of my tummy!

  8. Yes it is. In the earlier months there shouldn't even be a question of comfort, however as the baby becomes larger it could be considerably uncomfortable, though there is no danger to mother or baby. You definitely shouldn't sleep on your back, because the weight of the baby compresses the nerves in your back as well as the main artery that carries blood to the womb. The experts say that sleeping on your left side will allow maximum blood and oxygen flow to the baby. I'd recommend putting a pillow between your knees to level out the hips and reduce the chance of sciatic nerve compression.

  9. Only if you have a big giant pregnant belly! As long as it is comfortable, you can sleep on your tummy. Your body will tell you when its time to stop sleeping that way. Its not that its "not good", its just that it can be very uncomfortable when the baby gets big.

EDIT: The back thing isn't applicable to you until the baby is really big and heavy. And even then, my doctor told me if thats the only way thats comfortable to sleep then do it. The Vena Cava thing is blown way out of proportion.

  10. At your stage, it's still okay.. But then when your stomach grows it'll be hard and it won't be good for the baby, so as early as now, it would be advisable to start getting used to sleeping on your left side. Left or right is okay, but it would be better if it's on our left because of the blood circulation. It is said to be good for both mother and baby.

  11. You can sleep on your stomach as long as it is comfortable for you.  I am 26 weeks and still half lay on my tummy.  Doctor says its fine.  The baby is well protected in the placenta and doesn't get hurt.  But as you get bigger you can get uncomforable with the protruding belly. But as long as you can, you can sleep on your tummy.

  12. Depends on how far along you are. i think after 12 weeks you are not supposed to. I asked my doctor because I have a hard time sleeping on my side and since on my stomach is my favorite sleeping position I asked him and he said that as long as it is comfortable to me then I would be fine. He said that after 12 weeks I will have a hard time sleeping like that because the size of the baby would push on my organs and be uncomfortable. But to summarize, if you are comfortable then you are okay

  13. my dr. said it was fine throughout the pregnancy but it got uncomfortable pretty quick. i wish it wouldn't have because it was my favorite way to sleep!

  14. u should be fine at 5 weeks.  don't get used to it

  15. It's actually fine to sleep there until delivery. You will just notice it starts to become uncomfortable.
