me and my bf are together for almost 2 years, he is a good guy and my mother knows him well. Last weekend me and my bf came really late we were tired n we started sleeping in my room. we did not do nothing bad. my mother saw us and she got mad, so he slept by himself n i did the same. the next day she told me that you got to respect my house and you and him can sleep together when both of you get marriage.

I think this is very ridiculous I am 18 already he is 20, i am very respectful and i am not a bad girl i just don't understand her. Can you please help me!

  1. well i think it was right for your mom to react this way... you could have slept in different rooms atleast... any mom wont let her daughter's bf sleep with her daughter in the room...

  2. Yes you are 18.  She changed your diapers and kissed your boo boos.  She is your mother, and while you are at her house she views you as her little girl.  The thought of our children having s*x makes us panic and we have to think about all of the circumstances that come from our children being sexually active.  Although you may not have done anything, it really is a sign of disrespect.  You know that something didn't happen, but we judge you by what we got ourselves into.  Sorry.  It's the nature of the beast.

  3. hate to sound like your mother but;

    it is her house, and they are her rules. if you don't like them, move out I guess.

  4. I understand your mother perfectly well.... It's her house not a w***e house.... and this is why i say it --

    I had two sons, and i didnt allow them to have overnight girlfriends before they left home.  Granted, if they moved in with their long-term girlfriend sometime after they left home and were on their own, and something happened which caused them to need a place to stay for a few days, i suppose i'd let them then... why?  because they are two consenting adults, paying their own bills and living in their own place.

    I have a sister.  She and i inherited a house together.  She has three sons, my nephews, the eldest of which had a long-term girlfriend.  Well, the long-term girlfriend used to spend the night quite frequently and they slept in his room.  I didn't really have a problem with it, but i wondered why my sister let it go on... Sometime later, my nephew and his girlfriend broke up.  He started dating a stream of girls.  Guess what?  He thought it was ok to bring them and/or one-night-stands into the house overnight?

    Hello?  I couldn't even have a cup of coffee in the privacy of my own kitchen without wondering what strange person would be waltzing through our kitchen or spending countless time in our bathroom.  NO peace, and no privacy!

    I think that, having a boyfriend, girlfriend or date spend the night in your parents home is an invasion of the parents' privacy.  If young people want to spend the night together, i have no problem with it -- but they need to get a hotel room or rent their own place.

    take care.

  5. ok...I'm about to sound like your mom and you aren't going to like it.

    it is still her house and her rules are her rules.  either you can abide by them or get out and get your own.  then when you have children and you catch your daughter in bed with her boyfriend...that is when you will understand where your mom was coming from.

  6. she probaly thought you two had s*x

  7. she probably assumed you guys had s*x or something and was weirded out considering you're her daughter and its weird for her to picture you doing that..

  8. Well, despite the fact that you're both adults and I can see your point about "what's the big deal?"...  the bottom line is it's her house. If she doesn't think it's proper (for whatever her reasons may be) , then you need to respect that and not do it anymore.

    Once you get your own place, you can do what you feel is right. Before that though, you just need to accept that shes the one that pays for the house..so, her house, her rules.
