Is it ok to stay upstairs during a thunderstorm?

i do it all the time and havent died so im sure it is!!unless its a SEVERE  thunderstorm!!!

Yes, and yes, unless it's a severe storm with tornadoes or downbursts. If it's such a storm, you'll get a warning for your area so you know to head to the basement.

I suggest not standing in front of a large window during a hailstorm (hail hitting the window) or when there's a lot of lightning in your area, because if the hail breaks the window, you'll get hurt. And if lightning strikes nearby, it can harm  you as well.

Electricity can be on. If there's a power surge (or if lightning hits your house), your electronics will be zapped whether they're on or off.
