  1. You can use applesauce or canola oil. You could even use half of one and half of the other!! Good Luck!!

  2. I know you can do it with cakes so I don't know why you couldn't do it with brownies.

I would try it, I know with cakes it is a one to one substitution so a 1/4 applesauce to 1/4 cup oil.

  3. yes!

  4. I've tried substituting half of the oil for applesauce or a little bit more with really good results :) They were tasty and very moist. I wouldn't go much past that though, it tended to make my brownies crumbly and of an odd texture. It depends on your recipe though; give it a try!

Betty Crocker has an awesome lowfat brownie mix at the grocery store that you just add water to in a pinch. It's honestly about 2 and a half grams of fat per brownie, and they are delicious. When I'm really strapped for time and having company I serve them warm, slightly underdone and gooey, with a scoop of good low fat vanilla frozen yogurt and chocolate syrup. An AWESOME lowfat dessert!

  5. Yes, the texture will be different, less chewy, but still good and much better for you.

  6. Sure but understand that the texture will change.  It will be more on the cake-y side than the fudge-y side.
