  1. Well they don't recommend you do. Better with a glass of milk to line the stomach.

  2. Unless the medication is adversely effected by the tannic acid in the tea, then yes, it is OK. And if the medication WAS effected by the tannic acid, it would apply to cold as well as hot.

  3. i take my pills with malibu rum...u decide

  4. Of course, if it is the temperature you are worried about, it's OK.

It it is interactions you think about, I would not take tea with iron pills as iron must not be taken with tea, coffee, milk or bran. Those substances inhibit iron uptake.

  5. The only real issue with taking pills with hot tea is that the hot liquid can cause the pill to dissolve a bit in your mouth.

Case in point, I used to do this until I took a tablet of Bentyl with hot tea and it left my tongue numb for about an hour.  Now I just use water.

  6. I think they usually advise taking any medication with cold liquid like juice or water because the warmth of the tea might cause the tablet to begin to disolve in your mouth slightly, which might be unpleasant. If it helps you to take it this way, then it would be okay. I agree that the only things you have to watch for are the possibilities of the tannin in tea/acid in fruit juices, etc effecting the absorption of the medication.

Some tablets work best on an empty stomach/with or after food, it should say on the bottle or your Doctor can advise you.

    Hope that helps, dont worry
