  1. In some people, it's essential. In others, it's a bad idea. Sorry, you can't have a one-size-fits-all answer.

  2. Aspirin affects blood clotting, it doesn't affect blood pressure. Often the two are used together to help prevent heart attacks (or prevent complications, if you do have one).

It's perfectly safe to use to use both together, assuming you're not on another blood clot-lowering drug like warfarin. Even then, your doctor might prescribe it, under certain circumstances.

Of course, you always want to check with your doctor before starting aspirin therapy. However, if they have prescribed it, it's most likely safe as indicated.

  3. it depends on the blood preassure medication. My Pop has to take one asprin a day with his to stop blood clots, however, my father can not take asprin with his as it could react with his. Your always best to call a chemist or local hospital and ask to speak to a pharmisist

  4. I used to take bloodpressure medication and could still take aspirin, but only moderately as I have an ulcer, but in most cases its okay

my partner is on them and has no trouble at all with aspirin or dispirin!

  5. Aspirin or ASA (acetyl salicylic acid) is often given in hypertensive patients, especially in cerebrovascular accident (stroke) patients because ASA is a low molecular weight heparin. It means it lyses the emboli that is lodged in the blood vessels. ASA prevents the build-up of thrombus or embolus which is the primary cause of myocardial infarction and CVA. Together, they lower the blood pressure. In the case of blood pressure lowering agents (ACE inhibitors, Ca. Channel Blockers, etc.), they lower the blood pressure by acting on a specific part on the body. As what I have learned, these duo is given initially in patients who are admitted in a hospital with a history of CVA, Myocardial Infarction, and or those patients who, the doctors suspect of having CVA or heart attack...
