They are both plain white primers with no tints. One is brand new Kilz and the other is...well I dont know because the can is covered in primer and it is about a year old but it still has a half gallon left. Will my walls look whack if I use both?

  1. you can use them as long as both have the same base ,meaning latex with latex or acrylic with acrylic, so go ahead

  2. I don't think it will make a difference. If they are both white, you should be good to go.

  3. um it might you might not want to because diffrent brands of paint's can look diffrent even white u might want to get another thing of new kilz. hope that helped.good luck

  4. oil base primer ... you clean with mineral/spirits or paint thinner and it smells like kerosene... takes longer to dry but is more durable and covers usually in 1 coat... Latex primer .. you clean with soap and water.. dries in less time .. somtimes covers in 1 coat. Don't mix the 2..... Kilz is a #1 product  and it is oil/based ..open the windows before and during painting .. use paint thinner to clean the brush ..  throw the roller away.. it cost more to clean it . If your priming to make sure the paint looks good in 1 coat, why take the chance of maybe using 2 different types of primer 1 oil based the  other possible water based?.. Do  it right the 1'st time  you'll be happier in the end ....TIME,, MONEY,, EFFORT.. good luck

  5. The texture is the same in all primers...

  6. It does not matter. Mix then if you like then you keep a same color primer because you'll mix both the whites. And then do 2 coats of your color to make sure its nice and filled. Good luck and Have fun.
