Is it ok to use Tide to wash a mink blanket?

I need to wash a mink blanket that has pee on it. I know I'm supposed to use the gentle cycle but I dont know what detergent to use. Help!!!

Is it a faux-fur mink throw?

If it is, then yes, Tide is fine. ( use less than normal)

Use gentle cycle as you said and wash seperately in cold water.

Use 1 cup of white vinegar in final rinse! This will soften, remove all  smell of pee and all soap residue!

No fabric softener or dryer sheet needed!

Never heard of washing a mink blanket, but if it says wash on gentle cycle, I would use woolite.  It is a very gentle detergent.

Do NOT use Tide or a washer. Take it to the cleaners. They  can properly clean that type of material.

call your local dry cleaners and see if they do furs. steam cleaning is less damaging than using a washing machine, that can dislodge the hair from the skins.
