  1. They will be fine to eat so long as you wash them first. In fact they may well be better for you as you know for sure no pesticides etc have been used

  2. Yes, you should use them. At least you know where they come from and no chemicals have been used growing them.

  3. Supplementing your answers try really worrying him by adding blackberries picked locally, add a small quantity of water to the fruit (1/4 cup) and a small amount of clove dust or one or two whole cloves. Mix for crumble 321 Flour Sugar Marge or322 if you want a richer taste. PS. I am going to make an apple and blueberry one from my garden as soon as it stops blo@dy raining , The wife is insistent

  7. It is perfectly fine to use apples from the garden.  People have been doing it for years.  It doesn`t matter if they are Bramleys or not.  Just give them a good wash first and make as usual.  BUT, if they are not Bramleys, you don`t need the sugar the same as normal apples are already sweet.  Once your BF smells how good it is, I bet you any money he will have some.  Enjoy.

  8. Sure!  They are fine!  Does your BF think the hobos are peeing on them or something as the trains go by?!  LOL

  10. No disrespect to your boyfriend - but he is a bit simple really - nothing wrong with the fact that they grow next to a train track - just wash - peel and make your crumble.

In fact - they are probably better for you than shop bought ones that have been sprayed with chemicals and all host of others things

    Please save me a piece

  11. Apples from the garden are fine. Where does your boyfriend think apples come from?  Is there any difference between your garden and an orchard?  I have apple, pear and plum trees in the garden and loads of brambles at the end but the fruit yeild isn't that good this year because of the weather!

If you have loads of them, cook them and shove them in the freezer for use later on.

  12. Your going to be peeling them anyway and the skin's so thick that it will have pretected the inside.
