  1. Same-same.

The only automotive products I would NOT use on a bike are the bug/tar removers, or rubbing compounds.

The bug/tar stuff is pretty harsh, almost like a solvent.  Rubbing compounds are also more abrasive and designed for multi-stage automotive paint jobs.  You can wreck your graphics very easily.

    Wax, no problemo.

I personally never polish my mountain bike, because I prefer to look like a dirt ball.

  2. well it depends...cos i doubt the bike is made of the same material as the car is...but if its a polish...use a very thin layer first on a small part of the bike.

  3. EEK! Don't use Pledge. It contains silicone oil which will deteriorate rubber components and is verry tough to remove from braking surfaces. I learned this in, um, the 1970s from Bicycling! magazine and proved it out after being reminded of it after graduating from college.

    Car polish is fine.

  4. No problem at all. I didn't even realise they did polish for bikes and I have always used car polish .

  5. Remember.....a bike is made of metal and plastic parts just the same as a car is.   Remember.....bicycle accessories are heavily overpriced and marketed as specific products.   :o)

Use whatever polish or wax you want to....you won't hurt a thing.  Auto products are much cheaper and there's *nothing* special in any of the bike-branded products.   Just be sure to apply it according to the directions and enjoy your shiny bike.

(btw, I think shiny bikes are goofy....I like mine a little dirty and beat up!)

    :o)

  6. The Baconator is firing on all cyclinders today...use Pledge

The baconator and I didn't say to use it on rubber parts. Spray it on a rag and use it on the frame. I'm an elite cyclist and I haven't had my bicycles fall apart underneath me yet.
