  1. Not the best idea, an alternative is using things like lemon juice, eating strawberries a lot, and brushing 2-3 times a day.

Though not as fast acting it is effective and make sure you skip the sugar on the strawberries. Also if you try to use strips you'll miss the part of your teeth that the braces cover. not very appealing and the dentist may be forced to bleach your teeth when he takes them off to make them look normal and its very pricey.

  2. It probably wouldn't be a good idea. If it whitens the teeth, when you get your braces off the spots where they covered will be a different color. So you would end up with a little discolored spot on every tooth. Ask your orthodontist though, they might could recommend something that can whiten teeth and not be permanent and won't harm the braces.

  3. Check with your orthodontist. Maybe he can tell you if certain brands can be used safely with your braces.  If the whitening is permanent, how will it look when the braces come off?  Will the whitening agent dissolve the glue or bands that holds the braces?  Maybe the orthodontist can whiten them?  It is best to ask the professional!

  4. No you should not use any whitener or whitening toothpaste while wearing your braces b/c when you get your braces off then there will be spots where the braces were.

  5. My best friend had braces for 2 years and used teeth whitening toothpaste everyday twice a day and when she took her braces off the spots where the braces were, were yellow.
