  1. I say go ahead and walk. As long as you stay on the cart path I don't think anyone will 'run you out of there". There's probably no one there anyway because it is winter.

  2. I do that a lot in the winter, too cold not to take a shortcut.

People walk (and worse) on golf courses all the time so how could you hurt the course by walking on it.

But you may get in trouble for trespassing .

  3. If it's private property, no.

  4. That would depend on if it is public or private property.  Even a lot of public courses are reserved for the use of the public golfer (not walker).  You aren't going to do any damage, but if you slip on the ice and crack your head they don't want you sueing them when you weren't supposed to be out there in the first place.

  5. I would suggest that you ask in the pro shop if it is permissible.

  6. I do it all the time. Go ahead enjoy yourself.

  7. If it is private property you might get stopped for tresspassing I don't know

  8. Golf courses are usually private property. If nobody catches you i'd say go ahead, but if there are people playing, they'll probably report you and you'll get in trouble.

When all else fails, ask the course management if you can walk their cart paths early or late in the day. sometimes they say yes, sometimes they say no. it'll be a great loop tho.

  9. no, b/c if they see you they will run you out of there. Also depending on where you live people still play this time of year.

  10. No its not OK as it is trespassing and is therefore against the law.

  11. i'm telling.

  12. Unless there are "no Trespassing" signs, its ok to walk on the course, especially if you are staying on the cart path.  Never walk on the greens and stay away from the tee boxes.  Walking in the rough(the area with trees and such between the fairways) is also OK.

  13. It could be tresspassing, but do it anyway. Hey, they let the geese **** all over it, might as well let a human use it.

  14. i don't' see why not... you are 'passing' thru

unless it is private, then you are trespassing

  15. It depends on the course, whether it is private or public.  There are parts of of public courses you can walk through.  The best thing to is to walk inside and ask someone who works there, most courses won't have a problem with someone walking on the cartpath.   Just remeber to step to the side when someone drives through and hit the deck when someone yells FORE don't just stand there and look around.

  16. You really shouldnt be walking on the golf course.  If the course is closed and you stay on the cart path, I dont see a problem.  When the grass is covered in frost, you will kill it by walking on it.  Otherwise, you should stay off the course.

  17. As long as you arent bothering any of the golfers. Its dagerous to be out walking if they are out hitting balls. But if its empty go ahead. We do it, usually in th eearly moning or late evening.

  18. It depends on the course and the course rules. In Canada many of the courses are open for cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. The users are instructed to stay away from greens and hazards to reduce unnecessary damage.

It does two things. It encourages members into healthful off season activities and it makes friends with the neighbours.
