    sure, soap and water will work, usually just compressed air is all it takes. just make sure the CPU is not attached when you do it, and it's dry when you're done, and use heatsink grease when you put it back on.


  2. It's just a hunk of metal.  Just make sure it's dry and has a fresh spot of grease on it before you put it back on.  I am assuming you're not talking about the one that has the built in fan.
