Is it ok to watch tv during a thunder storm or talk on a cordless phone?

  1. Yes, because there is not a conductor between you and the appliance, and you are a fair distance away. Having a TV on or using a cordless phone won't "attract" lightning so don't worry about that. However, you probably should avoid taking a shower since the electrical strike can be conducted through the plumbing, and avoid using corded phones since there is a possibility that you can be shocked that way.


  2. Yes,  for a long time we had non wireless phones and it was from there came the deal about being on a cordless phone, and wireless and gettting hit by lightning.  Like it would draw lightning when on the phone.
