  1. I'm pretty sure it should be fine. From my experience, surfing boots are made out of similar, if not the same, material as sailing boots. The problems would be with grip and the split toed thing. The fact that the toes are split shouldn't be to big of a problem, but the grip issue is one you would need to check out on your first day of sailing. Have fun with it.

  2. I surf and mostly sail.  I have oneill split toed booties and they work awesome for sailing.

    I've started a new trend

  3. I don't know about the split toed ...whatever they are, but here's what counts:

    NON-SLIP.

    Hope that helps.

  4. I wouldn't trust the split-toed thing...

Personally I would just get some cheap, non-slip sailing shoes to be on the safe side...

I mean who wants to go all the way there and then find out they can't sail in the footwear they brought with them...?

  5. I have seen people use them, but the most important thing in sailing is nonslip. I sail barefooted or in sneakers. I have found that socks are slippery. I have sailing boots, that are rubber.

  6. I wouldn't. I would be concerned the neoprene would not hold up.Then you will have ruined a good pair of booties and have to buy sailing shoes anyway.

    Buy some Top Siders.
