  1. That is a bit young, but he will get used to it.

He will probably feel very lonely and insecure at first. If this is what you plan to do stick with it and get him into a routine as soon as possible.

Dogs adapt very quickly. Boredom will also be an issue, make sure you leave a variety of toys. Also it is a good idea to leave something with your smell on it. Wear an old t shirt in the house for as long as possible then put this in his bed. That was he still has your scent with him and will not get too upset.

It is not something I would like for my dog, but everyone has a reason.

As long as you are doing the best for your pet that is all that matters.

  2. As long as you take him out as soon as you get home I think you'll be fine.

  3. Outside? No.

    Inside? No

Not at 4 months old. This is a crucial time.

  4. NO! Absolutly not. A young puppy (such as your young 4 month old golden) shouldnt be left alone for more than 2 hours at a time and thats pushing it. The longest an ADULT dog should be left alone is 4 hours. Your not thinking about leaving your puppy outside by himself while you are not home are you? That is very dangerous and stupid because anything can happen.

  5. NO NO NO!!!

it is NOT ok for a puppy OR adult dog to be left alone for that amount of time.

the 'time' they say MAX is 4 hours for a ADULT DOG and not outside either.

if you can get someone to comer over and be with her for a hour let her out, higher a dog walker come home for a hour then it could be possible.

a Golden is a family breed, fi you are going to be away that long get 2 cats do not own a dog.

and i do not know why people bother havign a dog if it is goign to live outside?! dogs are pack family animals, keeping them tied uo or not outside is just flippin cruelty.

  6. While I don't recommend it as a regular thing for this age, if its just today he'll be fine.  However if possible, I would leave him inside and not outside (as your question implies because of the "shade").  If you don't have an inside crate for him, you can always give him a small room such as a bathroom where he couldn't cause too much trouble and where the floors can be easily cleaned.

  7. He will be fine, just take him out first thing when you get home.
