Is it okay for my cat to eat cat food?

If you have a little bit of extra money to spend then I recommend buying fancy feast. My cat eats the wet food and he loves it! You can also get dry food if you want.

I leave dry out all the time in case they get the munchies. I only give "wet" canned food in the morning and at dinner time.All 4 of mine are healthy and happy.

It's certainly understandable to be worried about the quality of food.  However, if you feed a high quality food, there's no more likelihood of your cat getting food poisoning than of your getting it on your (human) food.

Stick to high-quality cat food and the probability of food poisoning is very low.

The best is if you can avoid anything with wheat gluten.  Also, keep fish to a minimum in the cat's diet.

I think all of us were uneasy after the pet food poison scare of last year.  However, in order for your cat to get the type nutrition she needs, your only alternative would be to make your own ground meat food with the proper additives and vitamins.  I feed my cats Fancy Feast, which has very little fillers and good quality dry food.  All we can do is feed them good food and hope that nothing like that ever happens to our animals again.
