I know that hamsters get very stressed whilst travelling and can easily die in the car during the journey. I am getting Rabbits and I want to buy them at pets at home. My nearest store is 4 miles away. Is this okay?

  1. No! It makes them hopping mad!!! (sorry)

  2. Sure.. as long as you dont give the bunny a concussion.

  3. Of course it is.

how do you think other rabbit owner got their rabbits home?

    Hopped?

  4. my sister bought a rabbit about 2 years ago, and she travels back and forth with the bunny to school, which is over 3 hours away. she says he gets a little scared when traveling in the cage, but if she has a passenger in the car, that person will hold the rabbit to calm her down. but if you are only traveling 4 miles, i am sure everything will be fine :)

  5. Yes, short trips in a car, and even longer ones are OK for rabbits, though it is stressful to them and they should not be transported unnecessarily, only for things like vet visits, the trip home, relocation, etc.  I would advise though, not to buy a rabbit from any pet store.  They often carry bacterial infections and are inbred, causing expensive medical issues later on and temperament problems.  Consider adopting from a rescue group or shelter that vet checks and spays and neuters their animals, or buy from a good breeder who keeps small numbers, has the kits vet checked prior to going to new homes and is very knowledgeable about rabbits.

  6. Yes!

My rabbit enjoyed the car ride home (about 20 minutes) and the ride to the vet (15 minutes).
