Is it okay for the male dog to be a little bit larger than the female..?

We are going to mate our 5 lbs. chihuahua with another chihuahua who is aproximately the same size but a little bit taller..would the female be able to handle the puppies?

My suggestion would be to take the dogs to the vet and do a pre-breeding screening.  The vet will look for anything that may cause problems, from the female's hips not looking right for it to size issues and such.  It's definitely worth it, since so many females die in breeding and birthing.

With such little dogs breeding them at all can be dangerous.
