  1. By the very definition of the word, vegans don't support the killing of animals for food or any other reason.  Hunting completely flies in the face of that philosophy.

Now, I'm vegan and I can recognize that for *meat eaters* there are aspects of hunting for one's own food that I respect far more than buying factory farmed meat from the supermarket, but there is no way in h**l I would ever consider participating in hunting.  Killing animals without very real justification (self-defense, for example) is just flat out not a vegan thing to do.

  2. No, and obviously you're not a vegan if you think they can. (Well, anyone CAN, but a true vegan WOULDN'T). Vegans don't even buy wool, silk, leather, suede or other animal materials so what makes you think they would want to go out and kill animals themselves? It only makes sense that a person who doesn't believe in animals being killed by anyone wouldn't want to do the evil act with their own hands. Think.

  3. lol . no you can't hunt if you're vegan.

    that would be hypocritical.

  4. Seriously...these questions are just so DUMB.

How about we replace all the innocent animals in the slaughter houses with every one who asks questions like this one and questions like "do vegetarians eat fish", "do vegetarians eat chicken broth?".  SERIOUSLY.  PEOPLE!  IT IS NOT A HARD CONCEPT TO GRASP!!

  5. Vegan people do not shoot at an animal unless it is trying to hurt or kill them.

You're not vegan and you don't even know what "vegan" means so what you think is completely irrelevant.

A person that eats a vegan diet but likes to kill animals could be described as a strict vegetarian.

  6. ...you have to be kidding me.

    Killing is never okay.

  7. Yes, only if they are cute.

  8. wouldnt that be a moral conflict ? your not eating animal products but its ok to shoot and kill them ? why would a person wado that anymore in this day and age is beyond me  but the answer isbasically no they shouldnt

  9. definitely not. they are against animal cruelty and the killing of animals.

why would they do something they're rebelling against?

  10. I'm vegan and I only hunt the hunters.

  11. No. Vegan comes from an ancient word for 'bad hunter'.

  12. No, if the definition of "vegan" is to not use anything that has come from the harm or killing of an animal.  For example:  vegans will not wear leather belts or leather shoes if there is an alternative.

However, if you narrowly define "vegan" as just not eating any animal products, then the answer would be "yes"  -- but i do not know *any* vegans who would do this.  All the vegans i know refrain from any activity that involves the killing of animals.  So, no, vegans would not (and do not)  hunt.

  13. Absolutely  Not  !!!!!

  14. No, lol.  Vegans wont be the first one of your buddies to volunteer to pack up a rifle and "git er dun" . But if you want to have your ear beaten off while you hunt...sure take a vegan lol.  funny question.

  15. If a vegan needed the food to survive, and it was a fair, hand to hand hunt, or maybe one with self made bows and arrows, or a knife carved out of rock, then yeah, I think it'd be okay.

  16. No because it's doing harm to animals

  17. A little puzzled; your profile says vegans can 'blow away' and that vegans are hypocrites, and I know you have posted anti-vegan sentiments on this board before. So it's difficult to avoid the conclusion that you may be trying to trip people up in some way.

There would be no point in a vegan hunting for food, as they wouldn't eat the kill. And as most vegans have chosen to be so in order to minimise their contribution to animal suffering, they wouldn't hunt purely for sport.

Vegans do, however, have diverse views on hunting, as on any other issue. Some will be completely opposed to it.

Personally I feel that, while  I couldn't and wouldn't do it myself,  for a meat-eater yes, it's a better alternative - healthier meat and less suffering.

Hunting isn't widespread in my country the way it is in the US, and I don't pretend to understand how people can regard it as a sport.

But an animal that is cleanly killed after living freely in the wild is far more fortunate than one born for the slaughter.

So  I think hunting where every bit of the animal is used is a more ethical choice than buying meat that's from the slaughterhouse. .

  18. How does that make any sense?
