I'm an enrolled student at a US college and am participating in an exchange programme in the UK which starts in September and ends in 20 December. The thing is, I've already obtained a UK student visitor visa (I'm a visa-national) by making myself clear that I will leave the UK after the programme and return to the US straight after to continue my study (this I can support by an insurance letter from my college). Some say I must be able to show proof of round-trip or onward tickets as evidence to leave before the expiration date (December) upon my arrival or I'll have a hard time with the Immigration Officer, some say as long as I can prove that I will leave and be able to leave, I should be fine (I believe a school slip and my bank statement are enough to suffice this point). I'm so confused right now. I mean, personally, I don't see any points booking a ticket 5 months in advance and cancelling is undoubtedly problematic (actually, I would like to stay there for Christmas and therefore I'm not sure which the exact date to leave is - but whatever date, it will be before January).
Helps will be tremendously appreciated !
