Is it okay if i buy a 2nd hand surfboard that has been broken but already repaired?

i'm just a beginner so i dont really need a good board. just something that i could learn with. and i could get it cheap. the owner says that it broke in the middle in a wipe-out but it has already been repaired. it's a 6'6" board... so what do you guys think?

Honestly I would take it to a local surf shop and have them check cracks and make sure that water doesn't get through the crack. Have them re wax the entire board and check for other possible problems. If the repair guy says it's ok it probably is at least until you get better. If it has been broken in half I would most likely keep looking and if you can't find anything get if you haven't already. Good Luck!

i think no becox it  is broken and repaired and in future it may break again . it would lead2 loss of money

If you just use it as a display, sure. But to ride? Nope!

If the board broke in two, it's probably a lost cause. That means the stringer down the middle snapped so the stability of the board is gone.

There are plenty of used boards out there with have a few dings that have been repaired and are still fine to ride. I'd suggest looking around a little more, and forget about the the broken in half board.

I wouldn't buy a board that has been broken in half. Once the stringer is broken the board becomes weak. The balance of the board will also be off because the area that has been repaired and will be considerably heavier than when it was in it's original condition. Get something that you will be comfortable with. Since you are asking this questions you already have doubts about the board. Spend a little bit more and find a used board that may be dinged up or scratched but not broken in half.

I would think not. Since the board has been broken yet reparied the integrity of the board has been breached.
