I am new to golf and only played a few times last fall. Anyways, I just noticed maybe like 2 months ago that I have been using womens golf clubs!! Personally, I want to get a new set of clubs now since I am a male and feel that I should be using male clubs. Its embrassing just to ask on Yahoo answers but my dad gave me these clubs for free since I didn't have my own clubs. Anyone's opinion on the subject would be very much appreciated, but I seriously want a new set of MALE clubs.

  1. I don't think it really matters.. one thing for sure though, if you are kicking their butts out there with those clubs and they find out.. good old bragging rights.

Course I have never seen a difference in male or female clubs, think that aspect is all in your head, don't let it get to ya.. Clubs are clubs, and shooting well with them should be your focus.

  2. Absolutely NOT in New York... But in California, that's another story!

    LOL

    Hit'em ... uhhhhhh "Straight"? LMAO

  3. If it took you 2 months to notice it, I bet it takes others even longer. I would'nt worry about it. Though if you feel like you do want a new set of clubs later on or when you feel your good enough you should get a starting kit and then upgrade your bag and clubs.

  4. Not really, if you can take some joking from your friends than its fine. as long as your swing speed is close to a womans, than their is no reason to switch

  5. Do we have an ego factor to contend with here? Are you shooting par or close to par with the clubs? Apparently not, if you are new to golf. Until you have some mastery of the ladies clubs  don't even think of male clubs. As a Mechanic, learn to use the tools you have. If you grow out of them because they are too light, too short or too whippy, that  is the time to change, but not until then.

  6. Yess definetly. I use ladies clubs and im 15. it is because i am in between juniour and man clubs. But the ladies club i have is a taylormade r7 and it is the best driver i have ever hit. It doesn't matter if it is ladies, as long as you hit good with it.

  7. Nothing wrong with playing with Ladies' clubs if they're working for you.

On a "proper fit" perspective, however,  note that standard ladies clubs are an inch or half-an-inch (I forget which) shorter than their corresponding men's clubs, and the shafts are more flexible.
