  1. yea u have to get it with a needle because the gun can like tear ur cartilage, dont worry lol it doesnt hurt that bad i barely felt it

  2. You should always get that piercing done with a needle, never a gun because it can break your cartilage up, if you go to a piercer and they try to use a gun on that piercing LEAVE.

  3. needle

  4. it is safer to get it done with a needle. something to do with the gun shattering because guns and meant for 'soft' parts of the body and the needle can deal with cartiledge.

get it done with a stud. hurts less. i got mine done with a ring. hurt like h**l

  5. No, it's really bad to get it done with a gun. When I was younger and didn't know anything about piercings- I got two done with a gun. They became infected, got keloids on them, got scarring, were hard to heal and hurt a h**l of a lot.

I've had a cartilage pierced with a needle too. This actually hurt LESS, and was less problematic.

Guns shatter cartilage- so if you get your ear gun, the surrounding cartilage will shatter. Look this up on Google If you'd like- or prehaps bmezine.com would be a better place for you to check out. Also guns cannot be fully sterilised as they cannot be auto claved- thus meaning they are never fully sterile, which in turn means you CAN catch diseases from them. It has happened, and there are chances of that happening to you. Not only that but the people who utilise the guns have had barely any training- sometimes only two weeks. Claires ear piercers train on TEDDY BEARS. Thats not exactly skillfull is it?

A pro will use a needle, these hurt LESS and these are sterile. They should be used for piercing the cartilage. Also, you will be in safe hands as the pro knows best. You shouldnt be scared, its not as bad as you would think, and the piercer should put you at ease. Trust me, you pay for quality, and quality is what youll get with a pro.

  6. If I am correct it would have to be with a needle and I don't blame you for being scared...i'm deadly scared of needles but I want to get my lip and toung pierced so i have to suck it  up and get it done....as will you if you want your cartilage pierced...

  7. DON'T get it done with a gun. Guns cannot be properly sterilised and leave you open to the risk of the infection. They may also cause blunt force trauma at the piercing site, which leads to scarring and swelling and all sorts of nasties. Needles are quicker, safer, less painful and promote quicker healing.

  8. most piercing parols are required to use a needle now...plus its a lot better to use a need for a cartilage piercing since a gun can do more damage to it...plus, it really doesn't hurt, its mostly just shock because if its your first cartilage piercing then you dont really know what to expect...i expected the worse with mine and the real thing didnt even come close to my expectation...it was quick and easy :-) take a friend with you and have your friend talk to you while the piercer is doing it, by having a convo with your friend it'll keep your mind off the needle lol
