My sister believes that I have not provided you who are giving your opinions on the matter all the information. So that people can express there opinion without needing to refer to the last question...I will give a brief summary.

I live with my parents and my sister. My parents own the house. I have no job and so have no money to buy groceries with. (yes i realize I should get a job) My sister has a job and does the cooking as well as helping buy groceries.

I came home and found a pizza on the counter top, I ended up taking two slices and eating them, thinking that my sister had bought a pizza and it would be okay for me to eat some. Turns out my sister had a friend over and said friend had bought the pizza. I contend that I had no way of knowing who bought the pizza.

So the question was it okay that I assumed the pizza was okay to eat?

  1. Well, the real question is are you acquainted with this person? Assuming you are not then said person got mad and brought it up with your sister then.... no, it wasn't cool. Either way, you owe that person at least a couple slices of pizza. You should maybe save some money and buy a pizza for this person to make amends, that is if your sister is still even talking to you.

  2. Dude, why didnt you just ask?

  3. I can't say...

  4. You may have been ignorant that it wasn't your sister's pizza, but that doesn't change the fact that you took someone else's things without their permission and probably hurt their feelings in the process. Think of it this way: what if you were in your sister's friend's shoes and the pizza that you bought was unknowingly eaten by someone else? Even if it was just an accident, I'm sure you would have hard feelings and feel as though you were cheated. What if that pizza was just something that you were asked to buy? Would you be be frustrated? Just laugh it off? How would YOU feel?

It 's your duty to apologize and make amends to her.

  5. Yep, go Italian food

  6. yes, its okay.

  7. you ate a slice of pizza. you didn break a priceless ming vase. tell the friend sorry and deal with it. why is this even an issue ?

  8. It's an understandable mistake, but the answer is...

No it is not okay to assume the pizza was okay to eat.  It obviously caused some issues at home and maybe some hurt feelings, so that's what made it not okay.  If nobody cared, then it would have been okay.  So just ask instead of assuming it's a free for all.
