Question:

Is it okay that blood clot fell out of tooth extraction hole?

I had 2 teeth removed this last wednesday, the wisdom tooth on the upper right and the molar in front of it. I have been using a warm saltwater rinse after meals and at other points every day to keep it clean. It's now Monday and the hole where the front tooth was is deeper and I can't feel the "scab" where the clot should be. No pain, does this mean that the clot fell out and it's healing properly?

  1. The fact that you have no pain is important.  If it was "dry socket", you would be in a lot of pain.  It could be that the clot is not as pronounced as it previously was, but is still covering the exposed bone.  If it keeps feeling ok, I would assume it is healing fine, just keep doing what you're doing.  If you have pain, see your dentist ASAP.

  2. You've been doing a great job with your aftercare and it sounds like the extraction sites are healing well. It is only important that the clot stay intact for the first 48 hours or so, when you are most prone to developing dry socket (very painful). As long as you aren't bleeding and there is no pain or increased swelling, there's nothing to worry about.
