Is it okay to add splenda to your humming bird feeder?

Number 1 question: Why would you want to? Hummingbirds need the energy that sugar provides. Splenda is an artificial sweetener with no calories and calories are what the hummer birds need. Also, these compound has not been tested with animals and who knows how that little body will react to a sucrose/chlorine molecule. Please feed your hummingbirds sugar.

Hummingbirds need the energy that sugar provides to keep them alive.  Splenda has no energy in it. It would be doing the birds harm if they drank it and grew weak.
