Is it okay to ask my potential employer this question?

My potential employer asked me to send my portfolio to him, and he asked me to come for interview after viewing it. However, this is a part time position and i wish this web developer job could be something like freelancing but i do not know the exact required working hours. So can i ask him this question or is it going affect? "I would like to know what is the required working hours for this position and whether its like freelancing. Because I will be having my full time industrial attachment from September till November."

Any better words to use to rephrase. I want this job! I dont want my question to affect my chances of getting the job. Please Help.

Usually at the end of an interview the interviewer will ask you if you have any questions.  This is the time that you ask the question.  Straight and to the point is probably the best way to go.  It is important that you get the answers to this question and any other question that you may have so you can make an informed decision if offered the position.  There's nothing worse than expecting one thing and getting another.  Good luck on you job.

of course, ask everything at interview, but not the way like strictly asking - just normal conversation, put it all in between the communication.

Hi!! As a employer who has interviewed many people, i would think it very strange if one did not ask me that question at an interview. That  is what the interview is for, to find all one can about each other. Do not worry ask all you need to know about the position. The type of questions you ask  will  show your prospective employer much about you and help him/her to make a calculated decision.
