Is it okay to become an actor just to be famous and rich.?

I just want to know if it is good or bad, or you must really really enjoy doing it.

No. It isn't okay.

You essentially can't become an actor unless you're good at the craft.

In order to be good at the craft, you have to enjoy the hard work, the long hours, the stresses of performing, the inevitable disappointments, and the low pay that most up-and-coming actors earn through most of their careers, if they're working at all.

If you go into it for the fame and riches, you may as well just become an accountant. They make better money, and if they're good, they have lots of respect and repeat customers.

nope you have to love it but you have to do it only because you love it...sure there are the perks of possibly becoming rich but only if you love it will you enjoy it

its probably ok but you'll have 2 be really good to have a chance doing it cause there are TONS of ppl just waiting for it and theyre stuck as waiters until then. and it might help to enjoy it cause then you might do better but do whatever you want!!! :)

you must enjoy it or you wont be good at it

you should start with classes at school then do plays at shcool build up your resume get experience! then get an agent and if you want to be succesful it will take years of hard work slowly climbing the ladder of success but if you get a chance to do somethign big go for it!

You won't get to far if that is your attitude. You have to love it and most of all you have to have talent. Or else you won't be cast in any rolls.

With no offense to you, and seeing some vaild answers here, PASSION is why any of us are into anything creative.

   Stats for 2008 show the average income for an ACTOR at just under $49 K. If that equates to RICH for you, then by all means, shoot the moon. Certainly you can count on your fingers, those in the Millionaire club, but those who make less can fill dozens of large metro phone books.
