  1. no... you can ask a waiter or something, but for the most part it is considered rude.


  2. It's probably not a problem, just ask the waitress or waiter first.

  3. Most likely OK, but ask the owner before taking pictures and take care your not flashing light into others eyes when you take your photo's.

  4. Camera phones.  They are discreet!  Get a shot at that stoplight!  That's cooky!

  5. It depends on the significant historical value of the restuarant.

    If you're talking about a dive like Friday's then go right ahead. All their shops are the same in every city.

    As far as non-corporate places, ask a manager for permission. Most will say yes, but some just want to be careful of how the image will be portrayed.
