Is it okay to feed adult dogs with Puppy Chow?

I'm watching a friends' dogs (3) for him while he is on business in Hawaii for a few months. They are pretty old dogs (9yrs.-12yrs.) Well I have a puppy and I ran out of adult dog food, so I've been giving them some of my puppy's food, just untill I can afford to buy them more adult dog food. I'm just wondering if it is as filling to them as adult food normaly is to them? Or if there is anything wrong in doing this?

Its fine to feed them puppy food just don't feed them the puppy food as a regular diet.

It can upset their stomach and they'll get fat.

Its ok but if you ran out of their normal food changing it may give them the runs. Its always good to mix the last of the old with the new so their bodies adjust.

Nothing really wrong with it but it has corn which makes dogs itch and chew. If its for a couple days yes..More than that you may have a bunch of itchy and diarrhea dogs on your hands.

I have a 9 month old and have been feeding puppy chow,,I have been against corn in dry food for yrs. Its it sooo bad for dogs. Maybe switch to Canidea or Nutro Ultra..no grain..

The puppy food should be fine in a pinch, though ideally you shouldn't suddenly change a dogs food since it can upset their stomach. This isn't life threatening to the dog, just a little uncomfortable. Puppy food has more calories so it's more fattening for an adult dog but it won't hurt them or deprive them of nutrition. In fact, it has more than an adult needs so I think you'll be ok.

no its perfectly fine to give them puppy chow, because the puppy chow does have more things in it for a puppy to grow strong so it might help the older dogs

It will be fine. Actually all three of my dogs eat puppy food. The food I feed however is considered an all life stage food, so they said it did not make a difference.

It will probably just make them fat. Go buy some adult dog food.
