Is it okay to fertilize new grass?

We recently put down grass seed. We used 16-16-16 fertilizer first and then put down the grass seed. It is nice and green and came up in about a week. The problem is that it is not getting any longer or filling in. It has been about 3 weeks should we fertilize again to get it growing or will it burn the new lawn?

No, not till fall. Just make sure it;s kept damp. It take a few weeks to get its roots down. It should be OK unless it dries out.
