  1. When cooking, the actual alcohol is cooked out.  Its perfectly safe.  As long as you aren't using very much of it in the recipe, you cook it at a high temp and you let it simmer, there will be very little to no alcohol left in it.

If you really are anxious about it, just give him some without the sauce or make him something else all together.

  2. Yes the alcohol should have been cooked out of it before it's served.

  3. Your kid will be ok.

  4. Probably totally safe given the small amount (per ratio) the the other items in the dish. I would think that most of it steams off in the cooking process...

    Best of luck!

  5. the ACTUAL ALCHOL CONTENT DIMINISHES AFTER COOKING, AND YOU JUST LEFT WITH FLAVOUR. SO IT SHOULD BE FINE. but IF NOT SURE. MAKE SOME SEPARATELY WITHOUT THE ALCOHOL. enjoy MEAL

  6. it should be the alcohol should cook off

  7. If your slightly worried about it, i wouldnt, 2 be on the safe side.

  8. What's the recipe? I'm trying to imagine the sauce - I agree that the alcohol content will be cooked away, but if it's rich and creamy it might not be suitable for a baby anyway.

  9. NO!!

  10. It would be fine - the alcohol cooks out.

Baby won't get too drunk =>

  11. i wouldn't take any chances of messing up a life...even if the beer is cooked out.

  12. no i wouldn't risk it

  13. its fine the alcohol burns off

  14. yes, when you  cook with alcohol, the alcohol gets cooked out  and you basically cook with alcohol so the food gets the flavor--no worries, enjoy

  15. you guys don't know what is the difference between getting drunk and cooking!I feel sorry for you!stop worrying about a drop of alcohol in your kid's pasta, you should also stop to finish off the bottle of wine on your own while your kid is having an healthy meal for once!

  16. why do you have to put alcohol in the food for a child can you cook a different  dish for your child without the alcohol

  17. yeah that's fine x

  18. Sure if the sauce is heated the alcohol is cooked away.

  19. If this sauce is cooked then the alcohol will evaporate and the sauce will be perfectly safe to eat.  But if this sauce is not cooked then I would advise that you don't give the baby the meal, just to be on the safe side!

  20. if you've cooked the dish after the alcohol is added, the alcohol will have boiled out of the sauce.  if it's uncooked, it's not only not ok, but illegal!

having said that, adult pasta sauces tend not to be suitable for young children anyway as they are usually quite high in salt.  if you have added salt in the cooking, you should not feed it to your child.

  21. no because it can effect her/him

  22. as far as i new the alcohol burnt off during cooking

  23. a bit will be ok, plus when you cook with alcohol, the alcohol burns off with the cooking and just leaves the taste thats all.
