you shouldn't give your dog a bath that often! My dog gets a bath every couple months

Does your puppy go outside? if so does your puppy roll in mud, dirt anything grubby? maybe you should consider a bath more often?

Walking Lady is correct-I would not bathe your puppy at all unless he gets into a mud puddle!

my vet said to limit bathing to 1x a month so that good oils have a chance to react and recoat the dog's fur protecting it from heat and cold.

It isn't a good Idea. This takes alot of the essential oil out that often will cause skin irritation

No, that's really much too often because you're stripping all the oils out of the puppy's coat as well as drying out the skin every time you bath.  Dogs should be bathed only when absolutely necessary.  No more than every 6 weeks maximum.  Some breeds only get bathed twice a year.

Definitely no. That's the same as giving a child a bathe every few hours and never letting them get dirty. It makes their immune system horrible and lives short. They have not had the chance to build natural oils in their fur and will get sick with every little thing that comes their way. Let them be a puppy and play. I'm only allowed to give my dog a bath two times a year otherwise he would be unhealthy.
