  1. Yes, chamomile tea is safe for a two year old. Also, think about making an infusion of American skullcap and adding it to the evening bath to calm children for sleep; this used to work great for my kids and is safe for children.

  2. Yes. Make an infusion using 1 teaspoon dried flowers to each cup boiling water. Let sit 5 to 10 minutes. Adult dose is one cup as often as needed. That's based on 150 lb. body weight so divide your child's weight into that to get an amount. (If your child is 30 pounds, give 1/5 cup or about 1-1/2 ounces.) If she doesn't care for it, mix with apple or pear juice. Works best warm or room temp, not cold.

  3. 1.Yes

2.It depends on the strenght and weight of the baby.

3.The concentration of the herb in the liquid.

  4. Yes:

A wonderful treat any time of day, night or anytime of the year. There are no other herbs in this blend and its perfectly safe to administer to children.

Chamomile is said to have relaxing effects on the body and will bring a smile to your face with its pleasant and soothing aroma and sweet flavor.

The tea has anti-inflammatory properties, good for rheumatism, arthritis, and other painful swellings. It is also an antispasmodic for intestinal and menstrual cramps, relieving gas pains, acts as a very mild but efficient laxative, and loosens tight muscles. Milder tea in large doses is given throughout the day for fevers, sore throats, the aches and pains due to colds, flu, and allergies. It is nervine and sedative especially suited to teething children and those who have been in a highly emotional state over a long period of time. Applied externally as a wash or compress for skin inflammations, sunburn, burns, and added to bath for relaxing tired, achy muscles and feet, and softening the skin. The flowers are made into a salve for use on hemorrhoids and wounds. The dried herb is made into potpourri and herb pillows, and is burned for aromatherapy. The dried flowers are used as an insect repellent. An infusion of the flowers is used as a hair shampoo, especially for fair hair. It is used as a liquid feed and plant tonic, effective against a number of plant diseases. An essential oil from the whole plant is used as a flavoring and in making perfume.

    Safe to consume during pregnancy.

Please note: if you have an allergy to Chamomile or any flower in the chrysanthemum family, this blend is not recommended.

I would say up to 2 cups of tea per day is good. Start with half a cup and then slowly increase if necessary.

  5. Yes, it would be fine! For a "typical" two year old, about 1/2 cup of chamomile tea would be okay, more if they want it.

I have been using a chamomile, oat (yes, plain oatmeal) and lavender mixture for a tea for my child and it works very, very well at calming the kiddo down. Even with a tablespoon of honey in it. ;)

(I do 1 tsp of each herb in a tea ball, with 1 cup hot hot water to make the tea.)

My kiddo is crazy-hyper and no amount of playing or running around wears her down. This tea is a sanity-saver! :D

  6. half cup of 3/4 cup is good

  7. Why don't you try eliminating sugar from her diet and get her on a schedule.  Play, do bath time, then a story, and lights out.
