  1. It  all  depends  on  what  you  can   handle.    I  came  from  the  moutains  in  Pa.  and  love  cold  water  like  that.   I  used  to  go  in to  my  ankles  and  wait  till  they  got  used  to  it  then  go  in  a  little  farther  until  I  was  completely  in.  I  dislike  heated  pools.

  2. You go ahead and jump in, and then tell us how long you plan to stay in.

  3. Yes, that temperature really is not that cold. If you keep moving and maybe swim a few laps, you should be fine.

  4. 66 degree water is not dangerously cold. You'll probably feel really cold when you initially get in, but the water won't hurt you.

As always, follow reasonable safety procedures and use common sense. It might be a good idea to swim with a friend if you haven't swum for a while, and don't swim all alone in a place you've never been before.

Don't play "chicken" with a waterfall unless you're willing to accept the consequences, for example. I say this as one who did just that while swimming in a river, got sucked down, fell ten feet (roughly) while being dragged over granite ... and only skinned my elbows. It could have been worse.

  5. It depends how long you stay in the water and how much you move around.

  6. it seems very cold to go swimming, but of course i have a very low cold tolerance, it won't hurt you, you just might be a bit cold! keep movin' around and you should be good :]

  7. it justs depends on how much u can stand the water temperature.

i swim so im used to swimming in cold water everyday during the summer b/c i swim outside for practice.

if you have a feeling its cold and u cant stay there long than dont swim in 66 degree water.

  8. it all depends on what you body can handle. For me personally, its no big deal
