I am really worried about joining cross country because I run track and my events are 400m and 800m. I always had alot of trouble during long runs... should I join anyways to train and get better for track?

  1. Of course, running is good for any type of runner

There will be a ton of runners that won't be pro runners

You'll get better and in the long run you'll be happy you joined the team.

  2. If you want to run Cross Country go for it.  Running longer distances can only help your endurance and stamina for those shorter sprint distances.  You will still need to do the strength building exercises you do for the sprints, but that will also benefit longer runs as well.

    So go out and enjoy.

    Good luck

  3. ya, why wouldn't it be? I usually think of the 800 as a distance event anyway.

  4. yeah totally, it keeps you in shape and will let you run even better 800s and 400s. It is what i plan to do and i run miles.
