Is it okay to keep my cake in the fridge? what should i do?

i just baked a cake & decorated it with whipped cream..after a lil while i noticed the icing was running out of its shape. so ive kept it in the fridge. i worried that later when i take it out the deco will look perfect but afraid my cake will be hard. what should i do???

  1. you should cover it completely. because the icing will stay out but the cake will freeze.

You need to keep a cake that's frosted with whipped cream, cream cheese frosting or buttercream in the refrigerator, or the frosting will sour.   Try sticking toothpicks all around it, and lightly covering with saran wrap.  For the future, you might want to buy a tupperware cake carrier that would seal it up well.   You can find them on eBay very inexpensively - even used would be ok

  3. its perfectly Ok to put your cake in the fridge

    it well keep it Fresh

    your cake will Not freeze

    and your icing will also be in perfect shape!

  4. If the icing was running, then the cake probably was not completely cool before decorating it. If you think the cake is cool now, then go ahead and take it out of the fridge. Don't sit it on top of the stove or on top of the fridge though.
