Question:

Is it okay to leave brewed coffee out overnight (covered), to make iced coffee with it the following morning?

I've been dying to make the perfect iced coffee forever! I buy one from Starbucks every morning and it is starting to add up big time! When I put the coffee in the refrigerator, it tastes nasty the next morning. I am just afraid to leave the coffee out for 10 hours or so. I know DD and Starbucks leaves their coffee out during the day, but not nearly as long as I would have it out over night. If anyone knows, please help me out!! Thanks :-)

  1. Yes you can. I do it all the time and the coffee taste great in the morning. Remember to store coffee in a glass container until morning.

  2. If you are truly a coffee lover and are looking to get the most flavor from your coffee than try a cold brew.

It really is pretty simple...Use your coffee makers brew basket, set it on top of your container that you normally brew into. (First fill up the container about 3/4 full with ice) Heat your water to brew the coffee using a hot water kettle and pour over the FRESH coffee grounds.

    That is it!

  3. yeah my dad makes coffee in the morning before he goes to work and when i wake up its cold so i just use it, im sure a couple of hours wont do anything major, but it doesnt taste the same as starbucks =/ sigh

  4. Bacteria can and will grow in coffee left out over night. I would toss it out if it were me.

  5. Here is the best way to make iced coffee... Usually I use 10 cups of water to make coffee but instead... use the same amount of coffee and use 5 cups of water instead... This will make the coffee VERY strong but pour it out into a pitcher and add a bunch of ice cubes (these ice cubes will act as the other 5cups of water you didn't add before WHILE cooling it down fast!) then pop it in the fridge for a little while (shouldn't take to long to get cold) and you got some good quick iced coffee that will taste fresh!

  6. Sure as long as no milk or creamer is in it!

  7. Sure, why not? At the very least you can try it.

And Google Starbucks Iced Coffee Recipes, you'll find many on the web.

  8. My boyfriend practically has a coffee IV attached to him at all times. He leaves the coffee out overnight. It will be just fine the next day. It will obviously be at room temperature instead of hot, but if you ever have a craving for hot coffee instead of iced, you can just warm it up in the microwave.

  9. Sure can.  I have done this many times.

  10. yes. but i would put in fridge right away

i put leftover coffee into a pitcher during the summer and i keep in the fridge. everyday i add the leftover coffee to it

  11. Put it in the refrigerator.

  12. If that does not "shock" your system into action,

    nothing will. %})
