  1. its not a good idea

itll get weaker and weaker with time

  2. if it doesn't need charging, then you are just wasting the power.

the computer also gets hot, as does the charger.

  3. No, its pretty bad, it wears out your battery and eventually it'll die. Its happened to my laptop, and it really sucked :/

  4. Hi,

As long as you put it somewhere it can keep cool from the internal fan, it is fine. My laptop is hardly ever unplugged and it still works. What the others said about the battery going: it will after time anyway. Charging it any more will only decrease its life by a small amount.

    Hope this helps.

    Tom

  5. It's fine, in fact that's what you should be doing anyway (if you the battery to be fully charged the next day).  Li-Ion is best treated by charging it often and avoiding running the battery low (though if you need the full life of the battery don't be afraid to use it, just try to plug your computer in as often as you can).

The charging circuitry in modern laptops won't overcharge the battery (nor will the protection circuits in the battery let it be overcharged) so you aren't going to do any damage (the battery will age over time but the excessive discharges they often suggest won't stop that from happening and in fact are likely to make the battery die even faster (the battery can only survive a few hundred cycles and Li-Ion does NOT ever suffer from memory effect, though as the battery ages you'll want to recalibrate the battery meter every few months by discharging the battery, just don't expect to get any more battery life out of it), you can expect a few years of useful life out of a laptop battery).

If the laptop has a decent cooling system it can handle being left on for months at a time (don't block the vents, and make sure it doesn't have any vents around the keyboard that'd be blocked by closing the lid).

  6. No actually it's not okay. The problem is that your charger will do the job it's suppesed to do even when your battery is fully charged, it will continue charging. This will lead to a very weak battery over some months and you will have to replace it. So it's better to unplug the charger overnight. Plus it's better for the environment, you won't release any extra heat to it.

  7. yup. the charger acts as an external power. its rare nowadays were electronics get overcharged. so just be sure to put it to sleep or shut it down when not in use.

  8. yes but i suggest you close the top and leave it on something cool cause itl get very hot

  9. im sure its fine.

put ti somewhere where the fan can circulate air though. otherwise it will damage the computer

  10. I do it all the time, mine is just as good as ever.

  11. Generally is not good idea. I have heard that the battery became weacker. But i have my laptop online and in recharger always.

That i suggest you is to leave your laptop sometines without the charger and to switch off by itself, when battery is empty. This is that i do.
