Is it okay to leave the battery in my laptop while it is unusable?

my battery is out of use, and i can't buy new one. Therefore, I just don't want to remove it.

  1. It is OK to use the laptop with the battery 'dead' as long as it's not overheating . it wii not cause any trouble..


  2. It is OK to use the laptop with the battery 'dead' as long as it's not overheating - check it with your hand after you've been using the laptop for an hour or so. If it is hot, it may be better to take it out because there is a risk of the battery exploding; it is also wasting electricity...

    BUT there may be the risk that the battery will leak after some time - this could damage the inside of the laptop so I recommend that you take it out anyway.

    You mention you can't buy a new one: maybe take it to an electronic repair shop and ask them if they can replace the cells inside the battery for new ones - sometimes possible but not as efficient as a new battery.

    (Removing the battery would also make the laptop lighter so it would be easier to carry...)

  3. It will not cause any trouble. You can continue to use your laptop.
