  1. You're only leaving for one day? If you were leaving for, say, a week, you would want to be concerned, but one day is no time at all. The bird will be fine.

  2. Just make sure you leave plenty of food and water and the bird should be fine.

I always took mine with me (blue fronted amazon).

  3. as long as you leave it enough food and water it will be fine.

  4. yes

  5. i know that you are in a tough situation, but you really cant leave your bird for even more then a couple hours. i am worried about if i can leave me bird for even while im at school, which is eight hours. i suggest you ask a friend or neighbor to keep it at their house so it doesnt get lonely. you shouldnt have someone come to your house and care for it unless they are going to come over every hour. good luck!

  6. It is fine to leave your parrot alone for that long as long as you give it ample food and water...over estimate how much food to give her just in case you are late getting home.

It would be kind of you to leave the radio or television sound on so that she can be entertained and not feel so "alone" in the house by herself. Ensure that she has some toys in her cage that she enjoys, or perhaps consider buying her a new toy before you leave so that she can be amused during the hours you would normally be there.

Ensure that your windows are closed in the house and that the air conditioner doesn't get too cold in the house. While it's not cold enough for your parrot to get a draft and get sick, it can still be uncomfortable for your parrot if it gets chilly in the house.

Double check to see that her cage is locked and that the door is not jammed on her cage. I have had parrots escape their cages while I was at work, and came home to them walking around on the floor. If you have a sheet over your bird's cage, make sure you don't cover your parrot up when you leave. If you are concerned about the amount of light coming into the room, leave the curtains closed so that it is dark enough for her to sleep and bright enough in the room for her during the day.

I know I'm over cautious with my parrots, but parrots are like babies. They have the mentalities of a 2 year old child and have excellent memories. You wouldn't want your parrot to think you neglected it, that's for sure. Have a great trip! :)

  7. I think your parrot will be fine, just leave lots of water.

    And thanks for the star.

    Here's one for you.
