  1. My recommended source may be is not the best suitable one for the question,however it should be quite useful to get the ideal answer.here you go.http://car-insurance.online-tips.info/ca...

  2. As long as he has a valid drivers license and your permission, he would be fine to drive the car with or without you.

    If you guys live together, he needs to be added to your policy because if they insurance company finds out someone in your house has access to your vehicle, they can cancel you.

    If he was speeding, he would get in trouble, but if he had an accident, your insurance rates will go up.

  3. its probably not a good idea and i would recommend that you dont do it

  4. He would be covered (insurance wise) as you gave him permission to drive the vehicle (whether or not you are in it)

    Granted, if he got pulled over it is obviously easier to explain why he isn't on the registration or insurance if you are in the car.

    Although YOUR insurance will likely go up if he got in an accident in your car.

    If he got a moving violation, it would be on him, not you.

    **EDIT***

    I've read the other posts saying that he is NOT and there is a 'possibility' that he isn't but this would really only be if you expressly EXCLUDED him from the policy.  Here is the exact wording from my insurance policy regarding who is covered.

    ******

    “Insured person” means:

    a. you or a relative with respect to an accident arising out of the ownership, maintenance, or use of an auto or trailer;

    b. any person with respect to an accident arising out of that person’s use of a covered auto with the permission of you or a relative;

    To be 100% sure, you can look at your policy or call your agent.

  5. From reading all these answers it's just fair that you PICK UP YOUR INSURANCE COVER AND READ IT TILL YOU UNDERSTAND>

  6. If he's not on your insurance then he would not be covered and yes you'd get in trouble if you had an accident.

    You'd get in trouble because you allowed someone with no insurance to drive your car.

    Yahoo answers is full of people that did it and got into trouble and also people that don't have a clue about these matters and keep on saying that it's ok to give your car to an uninsured driver.

  7. You can believe those who tell you he is covered, but you had better talk to your agent to be sure. Insurance companies are not in business to lose money so they require anyone who drives an insured vehicle to be on the policy or have their own insurance. No one under 25 can drive my vehicles (including family members).
