Question:

Is it okay to make juice the night before consumption?

Each morning I try to blend and drink the juice of a lemon, celery and a tomato. The thing is, I wake up at about 5 or 6 am so I am getting complaints by my neighbor that my juicer is too loud.

So.. I was thinking about preparing the juice before I go to sleep, refrigerating and then drinking in the morning.

But I am concerned that leaving a juice this long will reduce the medicinal properties of the fresh ingredients and/or be unhealthy.

Any expert help? Thanks!

  1. It's OK.  It isn't unhealthy, just not as healthy as it could be.  But the juice loses nutrients the longer it sits.  Get an Omega or a Champion juicer.  They're much quieter

  2. How long do you think V8 Juice sits around before you drink it? One night in the fridge isn't going to harm your homemade juice.

  3. If you are juicing late evening/night, and you get up early, it will be fine. Put it in the fridge, though. I'm a fiend about fresh juice and I learned it's more pasteurization that keeps us from getting the nutrients, so a few hours in the fridge won't hurt.
