  1. It depends on the temperament of your cockatiel and where he's going to be moved.

Some birds are unfazed by change and welcome it. Others need time to acclimatize. The room also plays a role. Will their be any "scary" objects in the new room? (ie: stuffed animals staring at the bird, dogs running past windows, some old thing-a-majig grandpa gave you)

In the end, you have to know your bird (if he tolerates change) and see the new room from his point of view (scary things).

None of us here, can say for sure, how your bird will act. Try it out and see what happens.

  2. I have a cockatiel, a quaker and 3 parakeets who just spent 8 days at my parents house while we were on vacation. They all did fine. I think you are safe to move your bird. :-)

  3. It shouldn't... I had a Quaker and he got moved and he rode in the car...

  4. It all depends on your bird.  Some birds that have a nervous personality do get upset over things like this.  If your bird has a normal temperment, you should be able to move his cage without incident.

  5. It shouldn't, if it is a long and hard trip then cover with a towel.
