i work as a camp counselor and spend a lot of time keeping up with kids, loading gear in the full sun, and getting really wet in unplanned cases (i.e someone will dump a 5 gallon water cooler on you). it's a lot more comfortable for me to just wear a sports bra and shorts during the day. The only dress code the camp has for employees is "girls, please no string bikinis" and a lot of the other women who work there only wear sports bras.

  1. The camp's only dress code is "no string bikinis" simply because none of the parents have complained about the sports bras yet.  But they will, and then the dress code will have to change.

Personally, I think sports bras are tacky when worn without a shirt, and I don't care one whit whether the woman has a gorgeous body.  A little modesty goes a long way, especially around impressionable kids.

  2. A sports bra is ok..under the circumstances.. if you have the body for a sports bra.. shouldn't wear it if you are well endowed up top.. then you should wear a supportive bra and sphagetti sleeved shirt instead.. depends on your bust size.. if it's not big.. then it's ok to wear a sports bra

  3. If the other women only wear sports bras then I see no problem with you wearing just a sports bra.

  4. check with boss first........

  5. I wear one w/o a shirt when running or working out. I don't think it's tacky or anything, but I don't think I'd wear one to work at a camp. There's not much more to a tank top. Better check with the boss first.

  6. If its OK with the camp then it should be fine.  If you are concerned, opt for the longer style that covers most/all of your belly but still gives you the same kind of support.

I wear sports bras without shirts all the time in the summer when I'm working out or it is really hot, or sometimes when I don't really feel like getting dressed (I'm a nudist) but have to go somewhere.  I see nothing wrong with them--they're much more comfortable than most other bras, they give you the support you need, and when worn alone they don't restrict your movement at all.
