  1. Its best that you don't but if you do just make sure it is open and ventilated!

  2. Not super great for you when you are huge-o preggers.  but depending on how long you are along, make sure it is VERY VERY well ventilated and take breaks a lot!!  I would also wear gloves as some paints may go in your skin, sounds weird I know, but can happen.

Take pre-caution.. if anything, don't, but I did and my wee one is just great.  just dont go painting the whole house, it is SMELLY!!

  3. yes so long as you are not closed in the room.  try opening a window and keep the door open if it is like a bedroom or something.  also turn on any exaust fans in your house to keep the fumes to a minimum.

  4. I asked my OB the same question when I was creating my daughter's nursery.  He said as long as it was well-ventilated, it was fine.  To be extra cautious, though, I wore a painter's mask.  :)

  5. if you are the painter i would say no because the fumes could bother you, if someone else is painting and you know the s*x of the baby kudos go ahead

  6. They actually sell "fume free" paint.  But if you get that I would still make sure that the windows are open and you have on fans.

  7. i would be concerned with the fumes so if your going to do make sure the room is well ventilated !

  8. Painter's mask, well-ventilated and take a lot of breaks and you'll be fine!

  9. No because, of the fumes from the chemicals in the paint can possibly effect the health of the baby or your health.

  10. Yes. Most women paint a nursery while pregnant. (In fact, I don't know any who didn't!) Paints aren't as "fumey" as they were years ago. :) You can get special extremely low- fume paints if you're very worried, but as I said, we all do it, it's not a big deal.

It's always wise to be in a well-ventilated room though, pregnant or not, with as many open windows and doors as possible so you don't get lightheaded. And take breaks, painting can be tiring, hot work!

    Congratulations.

  11. If the room is well ventilated you can. It can help better if you use a mask. If you are still concern about ask your doctor for any doubts.

  12. If you have mask on, window open then it's fine!

  13. Its fine to paint a room while your pregnant as long as you where one of those Styrofoam masks over you nose and don't breathe in the paint fumes!!!!

  14. As long as the room is well ventilated and the windows are open it should be alright. I would wear a mask as well. Also I wouldn't try to paint alone just incase you get dizzy or start to feel ill.

You can also purchase non-toxic paint which is a lot better for you and baby and the environment. Its a bit more expensive but if you can afford it I think its worth it. One brand I believe is Mythic Paint.

  15. My Dr. said yes, as long as the room was well ventilated. To be on the safe side, ask your own Dr. Every OB is different.
