  1. Participate but if you find yourself feeling pushed or streched and burdened I'd say pull out of the races...

  2. During Ramadan you should continue your regular activities: you shouldn't just sit or sleep around all day just because you are fasting. The harder you make it on yourself, the more Allah swt will like it, b/c you are doing it for Him :) I was in cross country too in like 105 degree weather, plus soccer practice after, it was tough but for some reason I had extra energy. This always happens to me during Ramadan; I can last without food where just a few weeks ago I would be dying cause I skipped lunch, wierd. The energy probably wouldn't have lasted long :) but it's not so bad. Of course, not everyone's body is capable of doing this, (there were some days I felt like I was gonna pass out) but as long as you are sure you are strong enough not to have to break your fast, then go ahead. But I'm telling you, it'll be tough!

  3. Not if it will interfere with your ability to fast.

  4. if u can take it..but i wouldnt reccomend it in the early morning

  5. When I was in high school Ramadan was during the Track season.  I practiced and fasted while running 8-10 miles a day.  It was tough but if you're careful and listen to your body, you can do it.

Just be sure not to over do it and Insha'allah you'll be fine.

  6. Sister!

Fasting is a time of peace, comfort, and spiritual purification. During Ramadan it is a priority. When I was in track, I simply went to training, but did not participate until I broke my fast. After breaking my fast I would go train (at home)...my coaches had no issues with my religious priorities and I let them know that I would be doing drills as soon as I got home and broke my fast.

Exercising will make your fast difficult with thirst and will be held responcible for making it more difficult as it is a priority to make it as comfortable for your body as possible to have a successful and healthy fast.

    Salaam!

  7. If you can then participate in it

  8. I wouldn't if I were you, though I understand that it would be hard for you to give it up. Maybe you can do your training after dark and hold off on meets until after Ramadan? But if you do decide to keep training, be extremely careful. Long-distance running without drinking water can be dangerous. I don't know where you live but in many places it's very warm in September which will cause you to sweat more and become more dehydrated. If you start to feel sick, or if you think you're going to pass out, then you need to break your fast and drink some water. Dehydration is a big deal and you don't want to end up in the hospital.

  9. yes it is ok, but think of how thirsty and tired u will get, its actually recemonded to ease up on any physical activities during ramadan
